1.
Tired Trees 02:53
it's funny how much i don't care how little i've thought of it considering i'm indifferent when you sing to me when you're falling out of tired, tired trees it's different now that i'm home don't need to hide away in hiding places i'm grateful i've a few months to get things sorted out, alphabetized, and sized to fit your mouth since you'll never take a bow the worried mistress in a coward cloud mend up your broken arms and rearrange the troubled thoughts that say i can't walk you are masterful when you speak to me recite the worn out lines to a worn out man like me
2.
Forest 01:54
it's so hard to focus on keeping me calm when the only time you talk is six deep "why are you doing this?" I tried to remark but your tongue was too busy sending me sparks then you tried to praise me for being like stone "friend, I'm amazed you're not already gone."
3.
you are a failure in everyone's favor but you still are a failure to me an absent shell of what i seek so go play the martyr, but crucify brothers and stumble back into the smoke where everything's calm, but nothing is warm i fell along the interstate trying to keep pace cause i think too much when buzzed but you don't feel anything forever no, nothing stays with you forever now i don't feel anything forever and no one stays with me forever i was a matchstick and you were the gasoline i never wanted to strike i lost it all once, but i'd do it again to see that you're finally done for the night maybe i could finish this if you would help me finish it
4.
Birds 02:55
darling we both heard the walls grow thin heard the echo of your father's voice in it but i can't breathe with the thought of you still here so open up those gates and follow me the morning was to you what the drugs were to me a clean white page in a dirty space those words were the best thing i could do honey i cleaned up all the faults that i spilled picked up the lines i wish i never sent but it didnt die that day to the hunger in the maze just found a light and it's own steps to retrace and when we laid on the ground we kissed the wind with our mouths put my prayers on the backs of those little black birds hope they flew farther than i could ever see
